Charlton Heston was an Academy Award winning film actor. He was born on October 4, 1924 in Evanston, Illinois. Charlton Heston is well known for playing heroic roles in movies such as Judah Ben Hur in Ben Hur, Moses in the Ten Commandments, Colonel George Taylor in Planet Of The Apes. He also starred in films such as The Omega Man and Soylent Green. He is also known for his role in the civil rights movement of the 1960's and spoke out against racism. He was an active member in the NRA (National Rifle Association) and was President of this association from 1998 to 2003. He died in Beverly Hills, CA in his home with his wife Lydia Heston by his side. He will truly be missed.
