Mel Gibson To Be Honoured At Irish Film Awards

Mel Gibson is to be honoured at Iftas (Irish Film and Television Awards) at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre on February 17. One of Mel Gibson's films Braveheart was shot on location in Ireland and went on to receive five Academy Awards and Best Picture. His family roots also date back to Ireland. Reportedly his family members had emigrated from Ireland to Australia during a great famine. Mel Gibson is also known for his recent production of the film the Passion of Christ.
